January update

On behalf of West Campus Development Trust I wish all of you good health and happiness in 2013. The celebration of a new year is a wonderful opportunity to look back on successes and challenges and to plan for an even better next year. For all of us at West Campus Development Trust, 2013 will be a very exciting year as we move forward from vision to detailed plan for the West Campus lands.
Our Vision states:  “The West Campus will be a complete, vibrant community that enhances the University experience while harmonizing with surrounding communities.”  Throughout the fall of 2012 we worked collaboratively with representatives of our neighbouring communities, the university and adjacent facilities to develop a concept that will implement the vision. Our working group of stakeholders has been discussing conceptual plan options, including street layout, open space and amenity opportunities and the potential mix of land uses and built form on the site.
We continue to be excited about the opportunity that is before us and we look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas when we initiate broader public engagement in 2013. We are scheduling meetings with community association boards and other stakeholders throughout January. In late February all residents will have the opportunity to see the development concepts at a public event. Please watch for information about the date and location of the public meeting. We look forward to sharing our concepts with you!
West Campus Development Trust is committed to operating with integrity and transparency. We will continue to update you through community newsletters, periodic updates to our growing email list, and on our website at www.wcdt.ca.
Kind Regards,
James Robertson, President and CEO
